This to to inform that I,Ritwika Chaudhury,bought an international ticket (ticket number 5891740598396-397-9W 916 4 Feb 2011-CCU) from a travel agent in Kolkata,India for my visit to Glasgow, Scotland in the month of February,2011.I had a return ticket as well and my date of departure from Glasgow was scheduled to be on 24th of May,2011.However,on that day my flight from Glasgow Airport,later resheduled from Edinburgh Airport to London Heathrow got cancelled due to volcanic eruptions from Iceland.As per the norms,Jet Airways took from me 43,450 in Indian currency for the ticket via my travel agent.After reaching the Airport I came to know that all scheduled flights got cancelled on that fateful day.So,again I had to book another return ticket and finally the ticket was booked for 6th of July,2011 for which the airlines charged a cancellation fee of 6,000 INR with no fare differences.However,The Jet Airways having an alliance airline in UK from Edinburgh airport namely Bmi British Midland (BD) 61 got cancelled for which the Jet Airways authority is refusing to refund the money back for that part of the journey which was operated by the Bmi British Midland (BD) 61.When I contacted British Midland Authority and also my Travel agent they both agreed that is the responsibility of the Jet Airways since they are the chief operating airlines,solely responsible for all the connecting flights which operate as their alliance airlines.I want to draw the attention of the required authority and if the concerned airlines doesn\\\'t take any responsibility then in the future customer like me would stop buying ticket from Jet Airways.
