I have been using the idea netsetter datacard(ID:888849861)2g UNLIMITED download version for 7 months since November 2010. Towards the end of March 2011, 3G was activated on my netsetter and I was able to download unlimited for the same amount which i used to pay earlier on a monthly basis (Rs 650). On May 24, 2011 the 3G services on my 2G netsetter ID was stopped and the 2G service continued to function. I called their customercare and asked for the reason for the sudden deactivation. Their service was pathetic and I was not satisfied after a week of repeated enquiries. Finally in mid June I went to the Idea outlet in Pune at Narayanpeth with the intention of paying my mobile Bill. The idea sales person over there Ms Dipti explained to me the advantages of 3G which I already was aware of.The rental rates quoted for 3gb download was 425 rupees upto 3 Gb and for every 10kb xcess usage I would be required to pay 1 paise. Now I being accustomed to using the internet on a 16-18 hour basis per day asked her how much usage would that amount to per month in terms of GB. For this the answer I got was depends on your usage and that I can try for one month before deciding. I also decided to go with this. within 2 days of using the 3gb version-net setter ID(8308821466), my bill showed 20000 INR. I was flabbergasted .The usage amount in GB was not mentioned. Moreover it was written that my usage services were barred. This was not the case as I was able to access the internet without any problems. I dismissed this as a sham as I used to get useless and unwanted mails everyday from Idea with some senseless messages.Everyday I used to get mails from idea saying my connection was barred( when it was infact working) and my bill is so much and so on( this amount kept increasing everyday again without any proof of usage ) Today my bill i.e after just 22 days of usage is INR 1.12 lakhs!!!!.. I called up the idea outlet sales executive Ms Dipti and enquired her what this is all about and why it is happening. She told me that I have to pay this much. I was stunned totally. I feel cheated and totally taken for a ride. which person in his right senses would pay for a service which is more than 1 lakh rupees a month. I am at loss for what to do now. All I can say is that I have been a loyal and creditworthy customer to Idea as a mobile user and as an idea datacard user paying the bills on time. But if this is the way they deal with loyal customers it is a SHAME and EVIL. Now they say that the charges were 5 paise for 10kb excess uage and not 1 paise per 10 kb excess usage as mentioned earlier and they have the documents to prove it. while I was not shown these documents at the time of registering for the service. This is another aspect of defrauding the customer. I have been told to come to their outlet on Monday to discuss this out . But I seek justice here. They effectively are charging me Rs 5200 for every extra GB above 3GB!!!.. and 425 rupees for for first 3GB ( i.e 140 rupees per GB fr first 3 gb) and 5200 rupees for every extra GB after that!!!.. This is daylight robbery. I seek justice as I am not in a position to pay 1.12 lakh rupees for using a service for which i was paying 650 rupees for 7 months prior to landing myself in this mess. I seek an explanation from the authority concerned as to why do they market their products this way-425 rupees for first 3 Gb and every 10 KB extra 5 paise insteaad of 425 rupees for first 3 gb and 5200 rupees for extra GB. Please suggest what I can do now..
