I have a Scooty – Honda Activa, Jan 2010 make & in the month of July 2011, It had problem while starting & also it used to stop once in a while.
20 July 2011 - I brought it to the Race Honda service center, 32, Patpargunj Industrial Area, Delhi – 110092 to get it repaired on 20 July 2011 & I was told that one brake , spark plug , one lever strg handle , Element comp Air A/C need to be replaced. Jobcard was issued no. 11JC06809. Except the above mentioned parts, I was not told about any other problem. I confirmed for change & was ready to bear the charges by myself.
Fuel gauge was working that time on 20 July 2011 & before also for last 19 months, as per my knowledge.
21 July 2011- I paid Rs 783/- in cash for repair – Invoice no. 11IW06746 dated 21 July 2011 & got the scooty after one day on 21 July 2011. It was not starting itself, but had to be kicked everytime. Service center person convinced me that it needs a change of battery. I told him not to change now. The very same day, I got it filled with petrol of Rs 100/- ( Approx 1.5 Lt).
But the alarming thing was Fuel Gauge needle was stuck at red Point of the gauge, it was not moving after putting in the key. I told the receptionist – Ms Monica & customer relationship officer – Ms Poonam on a phone call. She told me to help out & bring the scooty next day.
22 July 2011, I called again & took the scooty to the center once more. I also asked if the battery could be recharged instead of changing. The answer was positive which was not told to me the very first day. The scooty was again submitted to the workshop for recharge & Fuel gauge change & I was asked to come on 23 July 2011.
23 July 2011 - I went again to take my scooty. The needle was repaired but to a certain extent. I took it as repaired, but again it was stuck off & on once in a while. But the gauge needle is staggering on its own will. I had no option other than to take it as I was loosing hold on my office work.
27 July 2011 - I have poured the petrol 2 times since then. Now on 27 July 2011, I spoke to the General Manager Mr Ashwini, He is not ready take the liability & asking me to prove that it was damaged during repair. He is also saying that the Fuel gauge related part is not in service center & even if he gets it , he will change it with billing only.

I have complaint that –

#if the fuel gauge was defective on 20 July 2011, why I was not told about it by service center person & bear the charges myself?( Because it was sound at that time)

#If it was damaged during the repair , the workshop should take the liability & replace it without billing

#On 20 & 21 July 2011, I was not told that the battery can be recharged, Does even not a single person in the service center knows about the recharge of the battery?
They straight away asked me to change the battery

#I have suffered a loss of Rs 4500/- as a salary cut for 5 half day leaves taken from the office – on 20, 21, 22, 23, 27 July 2011

# Also I have been suffering mentally & physically about starting problem & battery after the 1st visit, now fuel gauge, which was neither repaired on 1st time nor the 2nd time of which liability service center is refusing to take.
