Air India (AI) was on strike on 30-04-2011 & my friend (Beena Vijayaraghavan) had a return flight from Singapore-Chennai.She was stranded in the terminal because the first available flight provided by AI was 2 weeks after. AI officials in Singapore promised her that all costs of alternate travel arrangements would be refunded along with other expenses that she would incur as a result of the strike. So I had to purchase a new return ticket for her for Rs 17000/- from a different airline & she also had to make an extra taxi ride to the airport & back which cost her a total of S$ 35.40. But now they have gone back on their words & are saying that they will only refund the amount of the unused return ticket. Please help us get refund for the extra money that we spent along with compensation for the physical & mental stress we had to undergo.
