I bought a Honda City Car in Feb 2011. It came fitted with tubeless Michelin tyres. The car has so far covered a little over 10000/ kilometers. I use the car within the city of Mumbai to commute between Home and office. Within 6 months of purchase of the Car, four out of the five tyres fitted in the car got damaged beyond repair ( not to mention the numerous punctures that I had to face in between). I have been driving the car on the same road that I have been driving for years in the cars previously owned by me ,and I never faced such a problem in the past. All my earlier cars were fitted with tyres manufactured by other tyre companies .
Though I sent numerous letters/ mails to Honda Siel they have not even bothered to attend to this complaint. While the dealer tried his best to attend to my complaint and replaced two out of the four tyres, surprisingly no one from Honda has so far cared to even call me and enquire about the complaint. A personal mail and a letter issued to Mr. Takashi Nagai has not yielded any result. Michelin , the manufactures appears to be much more thick skinned than their tyres .
I have decided to go ahead and file a complaint against Honda Siel and Michelin . Honda who built their brand in India with quality products and excellent after sales service seems to be in a suicidal trip . No company will survive in a competitive market like this if they do not hear the voice of the consumer.
As far as I am concerned my experience of owning the product was not good. There is no joy in owning a product which has caused inconveniences, heartache, frustration and despair. Hereafter I will not recommend a Honda or Michelin product to anyone.
