Whoever you are, i know this will not matter to you as you are an Indian and money is the most important thing for you. On the 1st of Oct, United Airlines booked the 11(Me and my team) of us by AIR INDIA to travel from Chicago to Hyderabad. On 2nd when we reached Chicago, the AIR INDIA guys told me the first time that we are not booked as our names did not feature in their booking list. After continuous searching they found our names on the register and said that we are still not booked. I dont know in the world how would someone would show us on their system and tell us we are not booked. I then called for the manager and he also tried to convince that UNITED AIRLINES just put our names on the system just to satisfy us but actually did not book us. He asked me to go to united and get the booked tickets and then he would give us seats in AIR INDIA. (Well I think UNITED has better staff, crew and Service that AIR INDIA). Then I went back to UNITED and explained the same thing to them and they gave me 11 tickets which only did not have a seat number but says boarding pass. I showed this to the ticketing agent there and again the whole thing started where he said we are not booked but our names are in the system. He called another agent to talk to me and that guy (couldnt get his name as he had no name tag and after asking, he refused to give his name) sounded rude and i called for the manager again. This agent of yours told me and my team that he will ensure that we wont get seats in AIR INDIA. (Like AIR INDIA is the only flight in the world that takes us to INDIA). When the manager came I told him about his agent and he shyed away by saying lets discuss your matter first. I showed him the tickets that he asked for and again he said that they are not valid though it says Boarding Pass. (Now this tells me that the staff there including the manager do not know their job). After an argument with him, another manager turns up and says that he needs a FIM (Flight Interuption Manifest) from UNITED as UNITED pays them 35k for a seat and the other passengers pay them around 70K for a seat. Hence, they give priority for the other INDIANS and not us INDIANS. I dont know what is the difference. I dont know what a FIM is and I told them that it wasnt my responsibilty to do that. Its the contract that you AIR INDIA guys have with INDIA and you should solve for it. They then said that its my responsibilty and that I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT a FIM. How is a passenger suppossed to know what a FIM is. isnt that something internal that the staff should know. Well im glad that I know it now. Im sure some of the staff there wont know what it is and even the passengers wont know what it is. This was irritating and I told them to screw it and I cancelled AIR INDIA. They were so proud of their accomplishment to not allow us on their flight. Well thats how our country is. UNITED gave us LUFTHANSA a better flight than AIR INDIA. Thanks to UNITED. I have written to the travel agents in my company to not book AIR INDIA for any of our employees who would be travelling abroad. Thanks for your wonderful service and support. You guys suck. I will make sure to not fly AIR INDIA again.
