1.0 How does Complaints-India Work?

  • Complaints-India is Free Consumer Assistance Website.
  • We need to appreciate the fact that in India consumer satisfaction is of least priority to suppliers and service providers. Consumers are forced to follow up and beg to get work done for which they have already paid. Govt. agencies are no better.
  • Complaints India takes up website users complaint with the concerned company/agency if its email Id is given. If email ID is not given, if our database has existing mail id we will forward to that mail Id with specific note explaining why your complaint is to be redressed.
  • Complaints India helps to publish complaints for potential future customers of Company to view. This will be a deterrent to companies who wish to project good image so that their brand value is not impacted.
  • Other Parties against whom complaint is submitted, is requested by Complaints-India, by mail to post their response to Complaint. If they respond, its published below the respective Complaint and a copy is sent to the website user to review.
  • Most of the time, if specific details of the complaint with reference numbers etc are given Companies will respond.

2.0 Complaint Against Govt Agencies:

Submit all your Complaints at Complaints India. The Central Govt has a Grievance Redressal System. Efficacy of the same is not known. This covers only certain Departments and you can post complaint at Govt of India's www.pgportal.gov.in. Each State Govt also is expected to have Grievance Redressal systems. You may search on the net for the same, for specific states.

3.0 Public, Private Foreign Bank Complaints:

Submit all your complaints at Complaints India Website with mail Ids of the respective Bank. We will forward Compalaints with note stating that Complaint has been published which will be visible to other customers. Banks are expected to act.

If you have serious complaint about the service offered by your bank, you can also contact the respective Banking Ombudsman in the nearest city. Please visit Indian Banking Association Website for Contact details: http://www.iba.org.in/listombudsman.asp. Private, Public and Foreign Banks are members of IBA and the Ombudsman will take up the issue with respecive bank. Please submit key points of complaint with your Bank Name, Full Address, Dealing Officer's Name, Bank Branch Phone Number& Account Number. Do not write big stories in large pragraphs. Instead make bullet points which are brief, direct and accurate

4.0 Complaint Against Builders & Various Contractors:

Most people find that they do not have solid documentary proof after getting cheated. It's a consumer's right to get agreements and receipts with regard to any service that he seeks. Insist on Agreement and receipt before handing over any advance even to a friend.

When getting a work done never be under the impression that since you are very friendly with the other party, oral understandings will do.

If you find deficiency in service or delay send letters and email. Insist on reply. If no reply comes send registered letters as documentary proof of you having followed up. This is vital if things go wrong. Its fine even if the other party do not respond to registered letters. Silence can be construed as admission of guilt in a court of law. When you eventually approach an advocate, these old correspondence will be of vital importance

6.0 Complaint Against Companies Regarding Fixed Deposit (FD)

a) Against Manufacturing Companies for default on Fixed Deposit (FD):

Complaint is to be posted at Ministry of Corporate Affairs website http://www.mca.gov.in/MCA21/ regarding issue with Corporate Fixed Deposits

Go to Investor Grievances/Lodge Complaints and lodge detailed complaint with FD numbers, maturity date etc. You will get tracking number to track.

b) Against Banks and NBFCs for default on Fixed Deposit (FD)

NBFCs: Complaint is to be sent to Company Law Board in accordance with RBI. The Complaint is to be sent by post/courier with Rs.50 Demand Draft. The Complaint form is to be filled in. The form is available at RBI Website and can be downloaded from following Link:

10.0 Insurance Complaints - Mail Ids
If no response is received from insurance company within a month, or if the company rejects claim then apply to the ombudsman. The insurer has to comply with the ombudsman's recommendations within 15 days, and in case of an award within one month. There is no cost involved in approaching ombudsman. Ombudsman resolves only policy servicing and claims issues. For complaints against agents and policy wordings, approach grievance cell of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) complaints@irda.gov.in

The Credit Information Bureau (India) Ltd (CIBIL) now allows individuals access to their credit information reports. Home loan seekers can access their credit information details prepared by CIBIL.

CIBIL'S CREDIT REPORT INCLUDES: Name and address of borrower Identification and PAN numbers Passport details Date of birth Records of all the credit facilities availed by the borrower Past payment history Amounts overdue Number of inquiries made on that borrower by different mem bers Suits filed and their status The CIR does not contain Income and revenue details Amounts deposited with banks Details of assets Details of investment
